Das Tierheim Berlin wird vom Tierschutzverein für Berlin und Umgebung Corp. e. V. betrieben. Mit einer Fläche von 16 Hektar zählt es zu den größten Tierheimen Europas. Die Anlage befindet sich am Hausvaterweg in Berlin-Falkenberg.
Vorgänger des Tierheims Berlin ist das Tierheim Lankwitz, das seit 1901 in der Dessauerstraße im heutigen Berliner Bezirk Steglitz-Zehlendorf beheimatet war. Es galt als eines der ersten Tierasyle Deutschlands. An der Stelle des alten Tierheims entstand 2001 das Kurfürstenviertel, eine Einfamilienhaussiedlung. Nach dem Fall der Mauer übernahm der Tierschutzverein auch die Aufgaben des Ostberliner Tierheims, das bis 1991 in der Schicklerstraße im damaligen Bezirk Mitte ansässig war.
