Die Sohlberg ist ein Passweg, der bis auf 477 Meter Höhe führt. Es gibt vier asphaltierte Seiten, zwei von Norden und zwei von Süden. Von Süden aus hat man mehr Höhenunterschied als von Norden. Für alle Seiten gilt, dass es eine anspruchsvolle Besteigung ist, wobei die beiden nordlichen Seiten die steilsten Abschnitte hat (bis zu 19%).
