Unterrieden ist ein Dorf im nordhessischen Werra-Meißner-Kreis und ein Stadtteil von Witzenhausen. Der Ort ist ein Zentrum des Kirschenanbaugebiets Witzenhausen.
Unterrieden liegt rund 4,8 km südsüdwestlich des Dreiländerecks Hessen-Niedersachsen-Thüringen und etwa 1,5 km östlich der Witzenhäuser Kernstadt an der Werra. Nördlich erhebt sich der Sandwald , südostwärts leitet die Landschaft zum Höheberg über und jenseits der Werra erstrecken sich südlich das Soodener Bergland mit dem jenseits davon befindlichen Hoher Meißner und südwestlich bis westlich der Kaufunger Wald .
