„Je größer die Stürme, desto fester wurzelt die Eiche.“ Dieser Aphorismus scheint wie eigens für die Stockheimer Marieneiche geschrieben. Fast zwanzig Meter beträgt der Kronenumfang der uralten Stileiche. Unter diesem Schirm fühlt sich das Leben sicher und aufgehoben an, ein Kraftort

Start der Wanderung ist in Kreuzau-Niederau am Bahnhof (Tuchmühle) Wir biegen in die "Van-Aue-Str." ab und wandern Richtung "Burgau" Vorbei am Schloss Richtung Tierheim in den Stockheimer Wald bis zur Panzerstraße. Jetzt geht es wieder bergab nach Kreuzau und "Im Dröhl" entlang der Rur zurück nach Kreuzau und zum Ausgangspunkt in Niederau. Wir orientieren uns ausschließlich dem Weg Nr. 32.
