Ein fehlerhafter Pressebericht der Guardia Civil, in dem der Name der Stadt fälschlich mit Sant Esteve de les Roures angegeben war, führte 2018 zur Entstehung des gleichnamigen Internetphänomens während der Katalonien-Krise und etablierte sich als politischer Witz.
