Puerto de la Cruz , die achtgrößte Gemeinde Teneriffas, ist das touristische Zentrum der Inselnordküste. Zusammen mit der östlichen Nachbargemeinde La Orotava, der westlichen Los Realejos und anderen Orten bildet die Stadt einen Ballungsraum von ca. 140.000 Einwohnern. Puerto de la Cruz liegt westsüdwestlich der Hauptstadt Santa Cruz de Tenerife und ist mit ihr durch die Nordautobahn TF-5 verbunden.
Die Gemeinde hat eine Ausdehnung von 8,84 km² und liegt auf einer durchschnittlichen Höhe von 9 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel im Valle de la Orotava.
