Der Ortsname Caimari ist wahrscheinlich mozarabischen Ursprungs. Die Rechtschreibung des Ortsnamens änderte sich im Laufe der Zeit, so sind in historischen Dokumenten die Namen Caymarix li Aben-leube, Caymarix Labelembe oder Caymaritx Labenleube, Queymaritx und Caymari zu finden.
