San Vicente wurde erbaut, um den Gemeindemitgliedern der Pfarrei zu dienen, die im Schloss von Casserres bestanden hatte, als dieses zum neuen Kloster von San Pedro wurde und die bestehende Kirche monastisch wurde. Der neue Tempel wurde an einem zentralen Punkt für die gesamte Gemeinde errichtet und fungierte als Pfarrkirche, sehr nahe am Flusslauf. Deshalb war er zunächst unter dem Namen San Vicente Sa Riera (oder Sarriera) bekannt. Er gehörte zur Jurisdiktion des Klosters von Casserres. Im 13. Jahrhundert hatte es etwa zehn Gehöfte auf beiden Seiten des Ter. Als 1962 der Damm von Sau gebaut wurde, wurde die Kirche, die in ein Lagerhaus der Masía Verders umgewandelt worden war, von den Wassermassen überflutet. Ende 1973 und zu Beginn von 1974, als der Wasserspiegel des Stausees niedrig war, wurde sie Stein für Stein abgebaut und hinter der Masía von Can Deu (Sabadell) neu aufgebaut, so wie wir sie heute sehen.
