Die Schlacht von Cacabelos war eine kleinere Schlacht im Napoleonischen Krieg, die am 3. Januar 1809 am Brückenkopf außerhalb von Cacabelos, Provinz León, stattfand, während die britischen Truppen unter John Moore sich nach A Coruña zurückzogen.
Nach der katastrophalen Konvention von Sintra, die die Rückführung der besiegten französischen Truppen aus der Schlacht von Vimeiro ermöglichte, wurden die Kommandeure der britischen Armee in ihre Heimat zurückgerufen, um sich einer Untersuchung zu stellen. So wurden die britischen Expeditionsstreitkräfte in Spanien und Portugal unter das Kommando von John Moore gestellt, einem Militär, das für seine Reformen in den Taktiken der leichten Infanterie bekannt war.
