Alonso Cano (19. Februar 1601 - 3. September 1667) war ein spanischer Maler, Bildhauer und Architekt der andalusischen Schule. Sein Malstil wurde zu einem stark leuchtenden Stil . Mit seinen skulpturalen und länglichen Figuren wurde das Erscheinungsbild seiner Gemälde elegant.
Er war es, der die Dekoration der Hauptkapelle der Kathedrale fertigstellte und bis zu seinem Tod für kurze Zeit ihr Hauptlehrer war. Unter seinen vielen Werken sticht die polychrome Statue der Jungfrau Maria in der Kathedrale hervor . Alle seine Werke, sowohl Skulpturen als auch Gemälde, sind zahlreich und berühmt und können in Kirchen und Museen in Sevilla gefunden werden.
