Die romanische Abteikirche Abbaye aux Dames überragt die Stadt Caen und beherbergt in ihrem Chor noch immer das Grab ihrer berühmten Gründerin Mathilde von Flandern, Herzogin der Normandie, Königin von England und Ehefrau von Wilhelm dem Eroberer. Von der Krypta aus dem 11. Jahrhundert bis zum Kloster aus dem 18. Jahrhundert ist die Abbaye aux Dames eines der Juwelen des normannischen Kulturerbes. Durch die Führung erfahren Sie mehr über die 950-jährige Geschichte dieser Abtei und ihrer berühmten Damen!
Führungen (mit Zugang zur Krypta und den Räumen des Kreuzgangs) täglich um 14:30 und 16:00 Uhr (Außer am 01/01, 01/05 und 25/12). Dauer: 1 Stunde. Freier Zugang zum Park Michel d'Ornano von 8:00 bis 18:30 Uhr (20:00 Uhr im Sommer) mit herrlichem Blick auf die Stadt von der Libanonzeder aus.
