Autun [oˈtœ̃] ist eine französische Stadt mit 12.987 Einwohnern im Département Saône-et-Loire in der Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté sowie Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Arrondissements.Die Stadt liegt am Ufer des Arroux, an der Einmündung seines rechten Nebenflusses Ternin. Autun gilt als „Tor zum Morvan-Massiv“. Die dunklen Wälder dieses Gebietes reichen bis fast an den mit buntglasierten Ziegeln gedeckten Chor der Kathedrale Saint-Lazare heran.
