Der Mont Ventoux ist ein 1909 m hoher dominanter Berg in der französischen Provence. Die Kelten verehrten ihn wahrscheinlich als heiligen Berg. Über die Region hinaus populär wurde der Mont Ventoux nach der Besteigung und Beschreibung durch Francesco Petrarca im Jahr 1336. Heute ist er durch eine Bergstraße erschlossen, die große Bedeutung für den Radsport hat. Der Mont Ventoux trägt den Beinamen Géant de Provence .
