Der Passage du Gois ist in der Tour de France beliebt. Es war der Start der Tour de France im Jahr 2011. Auch 1999 war der Passage du Gois Teil der Tour de France. Aufgrund der rutschigen Straße kam es zu einem Unfall, der einen Zeitunterschied von sechs Minuten zwischen dem Peloton und den gestürzten Fahrern verursachte. Das ließ einige Favoriten die Hoffnung auf den Sieg der Tour verlieren. Alex Zülle war einer von ihnen. Er wurde Zweiter, sieben Minuten hinter Lance Armstrong. Auch 2005 führte die Tour hier vorbei.
