Der Grand Ballon ist der höchste Berg (1424 m) der französischen Region Vosges.
Der Berg befindet sich im südlichen Teil des Kamms. Der Gipfel liegt direkt über der Baumgrenze. Schöne Spaziergänge können in der Umgebung des Grand Ballon unternommen werden. Vom Gipfel aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Umgebung des Grand Ballon in den Vogesen. Viel weiter im Süden hat man einen Blick auf die Alpen. Unter anderem ist der Mont Blanc leicht zu sehen.
Das charakteristische Merkmal des Grand Ballon ist ein Radar auf dem Gipfel.
Der Grand Ballon ist einer der Gipfel, zu denen die Route des Crêtes führt, die alle Höhenlagen des Vogesenmassivs in Nord-Süd-Richtung verbindet. Die Straße führt auf 1325 m direkt unterhalb des Gipfels über einen Pass. Es gibt viel Fahrradfahren auf dieser Straße, aber viele Touristen kommen auch mit dem Auto zum Grand Ballon.
