St Austell ist eine Stadt an der Südküste der englischen Grafschaft Cornwall. Im Jahr 2011 hatte sie 19.958 Einwohner.
Der Stadtkern liegt am östlichen Ufer des St Austell Rivers, etwa mittig an dessen Lauf zwischen der Quelle und der Mündung in die Mevagissey Bay bei Pentewan. Die Fläche des Stadtgebietes beträgt 6,61 Quadratkilometer. Angrenzende Gemeinden sind, beginnend im Westen und dann im Uhrzeigersinn, St Mewan, Treverbyn, Carlyon, St Austell Bay und Pentewan Valley. Die Gemarkung ist mittlerweile weitgehend bebaut, die Übergänge zu den Nachbargemeinden Treverbyn und St Austell Bay sind fließend. St Austell liegt innerhalb der National Character Area Cornish Killas.
