Tantallon Castle ist die letzte mittelalterliche Ringmauerburg, die in Schottland errichtet wurde. Tantallon wurde Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts erbaut.
Es gibt auch eine Geistergeschichte, die mit dieser Burg verbunden ist. Im März 2009 veröffentlichte der Psychologieprofessor Richard Wiseman ein Foto, das in Tantallon aufgenommen wurde und offenbar eine Figur zeigt, die hinter einem Geländer in einer Wandöffnung steht. Wiseman erklärte, dass keine kostümierten Führer in Tantallon anwesend waren und dass drei fotografische Experten bestätigt haben, dass das Bild nicht manipuliert wurde. Ein zweites Foto, das 30 Jahre früher aufgenommen wurde und eine andere Figur an einem ähnlichen Ort zeigt, wurde einige Tage später in The Scotsman abgedruckt.
