Im Jahr 1976 wurden Fotos von der Battersea Power Station für das Cover des Pink Floyd Albums Animals aufgenommen. Die Bilder wurden mit einem zwölf Meter langen Ballon in Form eines Schweins gemacht, der zwischen den Schornsteinen des Kraftwerks schwebte. Das Schwein löste sich und schwebte über dem Anflugweg des London Heathrow Airport, bevor es eine Höhe von 18.000 Fuß (5,5 km) erreichte und wieder zur Erde zurückkam. Infolgedessen erhielten sowohl Pink Floyd als auch das Kraftwerk viel Publicity.
