W2-4: PIAZZA MATTE & FONTANA DELLE TARTARUGHE (Schildkrötenbrunnen)
Die Piazza Mattei ist nach einem der Wohnsitze der gleichnamigen Familie benannt, die wir auch noch auf der Piazza Piscinulla (W9-5) antreffen werden. Das Tor Nummer 19 verbirgt einen wunderschönen mittelalterlichen Innenhof.
Der Schildkrötenbrunnen wurde 1588 eingeweiht, aber die Schildkröten selbst kamen erst ein Jahrhundert später als Ersatz für 4 Delfine.
