Die CSSF ist verantwortlich für die Beaufsichtigung von Kreditinstituten, Experten des Finanzsektors, Kapitalanlagegesellschaften, Pensionsfonds, reguliert Wertpapiermärkte und ihre Betreiber, multilaterale Handelssysteme und Zahlungsinstitute. Die CSSF ist auch die zuständige Behörde für die öffentliche Abschlussprüferaufsicht.
