Das Amstelveld ist ein Platz im Zentrum von Amsterdam, zwischen der Reguliersgracht, Prinsengracht und der Kerkstraat, ganz in der Nähe der Utrechtsestraat. Die Amstelkirche, ein überwiegend aus Holz gebautes Gebäude, steht an dem Platz. Die charakteristische Bepflanzung besteht aus 46 kaukasischen Walnussbäumen.
Im Jahr 1658 musste Amsterdam erweitert werden, und es wurde eine lange Straße zwischen der Keizers- und der Prinsengracht geplant. Entlang dieser Straße sollten vier große Räume für neue Kirchen entstehen. Die Straße wurde Kerkstraat genannt und einer dieser leeren Räume wurde das Amstelveld.
