Daol'n) ist ein Dorf im Westen der Niederlande in der Provinz Drenthe. Sie liegt nördlich der Stadt Coevorden und hatte am 1. Januar 2021 ca. 3.935 Einwohner. Seit dem 1. Januar 1998 ist es Teil der Gemeinde Coevorden.De Name Dalen taucht zum ersten Mal in einer Liste der Einkünfte des Doms von Utrecht aus dem Jahr 1225 auf. Die ältesten offiziellen Urkunden, in denen der Name Dalen erwähnt wird, stammen aus dem Jahr 1276. Sie erwähnen, dass im Jahr 1276 Hindricus van Borculo, Vicomte von Coevorden, über einen Streit zwischen dem Kloster Assen und den Einwohnern von Dalen zu entscheiden hatte. Das Ausgraben dieser alten Dokumente führte dazu, dass Dalen im Jahr 1976 unter der Leitung des damaligen Bürgermeisters Ivo Opstelten sein 700-jähriges Bestehen feierte.
