Exel ist ein Dorf in der niederländischen Gemeinde Lochem. Exel liegt in der Nähe von Lochem. Das Dorf besteht aus vier Straßen, der Oude Lochemseweg, der Exelseweg, 't Veld und der Vossebosweg. Exel besteht aus einem Kern mit etwa 55 Wohnhäusern und 170 Einwohnern sowie einem großen Außenbereich. Traditionell ist es ein Gebiet mit einer Länge von 6,5 und einer Breite von 1,5 km, eingeklemmt zwischen den Landgütern Verwolde und Ampsen und angrenzend an die Wälder von Ampsen.
