Neben dem Noorderbos wurden 2007 die ersten 46 Bäume des Geboortebos gepflanzt. Das Geboortebos soll symbolisieren, dass alle Kinder das Recht haben, in einer gesunden Umgebung aufzuwachsen. Die Eltern entscheiden selbst, ob sie einen Baum kaufen. Von jedem Jahrgang werden die Namen der Neugeborenen auf Plaketten im Wald erwähnt. Besonders am Tilburgser Geboortebos ist, dass es mit einem ähnlichen Wald in Matagalpa verbunden ist. Für jeden Baum in Tilburg wird in der Partnerstadt in Nicaragua ein Baum gepflanzt. Die Stiftung Nationale Baumfesttag begann bereits 1990 mit dem Pflanzen von Bäumen für neue Weltbürger in Geboortebossen.
