Mgr. Hopmans hat die Kapelle am 2. September 1939 eingeweiht. Die Willibrordusstatue wurde von Luc van Hoek aus Goirle entworfen und von Sjef van Gool aus Baarle angefertigt.
Die Kapelle wurde im Krieg als Wachposten genutzt und wurde zerstört. 1946 wurde sie von den Architekten Jacobs und Muis wieder aufgebaut und erneut eingeweiht. 1976 musste die Kapelle nach Vernachlässigung erneut unter der Architektur von J. Backx wieder aufgebaut werden. Der Willibrordusbrunnen befindet sich unter dem Fußboden. Im Jahr 2000 konnte die Terrakotta-Plakette mit dem Wappen von Mgr. Hopmans wieder angebracht werden.
Die Stiftung Kapel van Boshoven ist 2003 Eigentümer der Kapelle geworden, und das Grundstück, auf dem sie stand, stellte sich als noch zum angrenzenden Waldgrundstück gehörend heraus!
