Avinguda Visconde Guedes Teixeira ist die Hauptstraße der Stadt, die in Llarg de Camões (vor dem alten Bischofspalast und der Kathedrale ) beginnt und am Fuße der Stufen des Santuari dels Remédios endet.
Es handelt sich um eine breite gepflasterte Allee, die im mittleren Teil durch eine wunderschön angelegte Promenade geteilt wird. Es verläuft durch einen Wald mit Rasenflächen mit Blumen und kleinen Zäunen, die geometrische Muster bilden, mehreren Zierbrunnen (der Cochicho-Brunnen sticht hervor) und Bänken zum Sitzen.
An der Kreuzung mit der Avinguda 5 d'Octubre gibt es einen Kreisverkehr, an dem sich das Denkmal für den unbekannten Soldaten befindet.
