In 1838, the local abbot had a statue of Saint Anthony installed, after which the tree became a local place of pilgrimage for the farmers in the region. Here they came to beg for healing for their pigs and took acorns with them as feed for the piglets. By the way, the branches of the full crown of the tree are still heavily laden with acorns in autumn.
