Walk of 5 to 10km in Botrange - Around the Marshes

Walk through the oldest nature reserve in Belgium and discover an extraordinary landscape! From the Signal de Botrange, you step onto the immense plateau of the Fens. You walk over wooden walkways through the heath landscape. These walkways were built over the peat. It is a legacy of an old path that ran through the fens in the Middle Ages, the Via Mansuerisca. After Wez, you reach the end of the world, deep in the heart of the large nature reserve. So vast and immense! Travelers shiver in this place and are glad to see Baraque-Michel a bit further. You can go warm up there. Return via the Poleûr fen. The landscape is the result of several centuries of human labor. A bit further, you discover the Neûr-Lowé, a microcosm in itself, covered with almost all the flora that can be found in the high fens. The landscape of these fens was already visible 10,000 years ago!
