Climbing, scrambling, and beautiful viewpoints at the Rocks of Freÿr

For those who do not want to take a long walk, but still feel like an adventurous journey, this short route at the Rocks of Freÿr is a perfect choice. In a compact course, you combine impressive views with a playful and active route.

Parking is available at the parking lot at the starting point or along the road. On nice days, the car picks up more dust in the parking lot than along the road :-).

We start with two beautiful viewpoints, where you are rewarded with expansive panoramas over the Meuse and the imposing rock massif of Freÿr. From here, you can really see how steep and impressive the rock walls are, with the river calmly winding alongside. Then we descend at a gentle pace, zigzagging down. Once down, we walk along the Meuse for a while, where the view never gets boring. Here you often see climbers making their way up the steep rock walls – a fascinating sight that makes this place even more special.

The last part of the walk is also the most playful: via rocks, old constructed steps, and short climbing sections, you work your way back up towards the parking lot. It’s a short but intense finale that gives this walk an adventurous character.
