Of Berlin’s many memorials and reminders of the reign of the Nazis, few are as chilling as this elegant, turn-of-the-century mansion on the tranquil shores of Wannsee, a lake on the outskirts of Berlin. On January 20th 1942, Reinhard Heydrich, Adolf Eichmann and 13 other officers of the Third Reich’s secret service and SS met in this house and agreed on what they called “the final solution of the Jewish question”.
