The Obernzell Castle is a former prince-bishop's water castle in Obernzell in the district of Passau. The complex is listed as a monument under the file number D-2-75-137-74. The Bishop of Passau, Georg von Hohenlohe, began the construction of a water castle, which was completed by his successor, Leonhard von Laiming, in 1426. Between 1581 and 1583, Prince-Bishop Urban von Trennbach expanded the building into a representative Renaissance castle.
