Since 2003, Groß Schönebeck has been a village and a former municipality in the district of Barnim, in Brandenburg, Germany. It was established as an independent village in the 13th/14th century.
The community lies 12 kilometres northwest of Finowfurt, the seat of the municipal administration, and 20 kilometres northwest of Eberswalde, the administrative seat of the district. Within the boundaries of Groß Schönebeck are the district of Böhmerheide, the inhabited districts of Döllner Heide, Sarnow and Sperlingsaue as well as the following residential areas: Altlotzin, Döllner Siedlung, Eichheide, Gardix, Grahsee, Klein Dölln, Rehluch and Wildfang.
