The hamlet of Borgau is located on the northeastern slope of the Finne in hilly terrain west of federal highways 87 and 250, and south of federal highway 176.
The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on December 26, 1209. However, it is said that Borgau existed earlier, although this cannot be verified, as a Slavic village. The current church has existed since 1818. In 2012, the hamlet had a total of 47 residents.
