Kapellen is a district of Moers as well as one of the six districts of this district in the district of Wesel in North Rhine-Westphalia. In addition to Kapellen-Mitte, these are the districts of Bettenkamp, Holderberg, Achterrathsfeld, Achterrathsheide and Vennikel .
From the formerly independent and typical Lower Rhine village of Kapellen with an agricultural character, which later became a colliery site, the village has been transformed into a growing district through structural change.
