Groß Särchen, Upper Sorbian, is the second largest district of the municipality of Lohsa in the district of Bautzen in Upper Lusatia, Saxony, with about 1200 inhabitants. The church village in the Sorbian settlement area is referred to as Krabat Village, named after Colonel Johann von Schadowitz, who lived in the village from 1691 until his death in 1704.
Groß Särchen is located in the western part of the municipality of Lohsa at the western edge of the Upper Lusatian biosphere reserve of heath and pond landscapes and south of the Knappensee, which is fed by the Hoyerswerda Schwarzwasser. The town of Wittichenau lies in the northwestern neighborhood.
