The Romberg Nature Reserve is located in the area of the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart, south of Sendelbach, a district of Lohr am Main.
To the west of the area flows the Main River, while the St 2437 runs to the northeast. The 230-meter-high Romberg rises in the area, which was formed as a hogback. Its sandy dry grasslands are home to a rich population of the bull beetle, among others. Spring fairy shrimp live in temporary ponds in the Main valley at the foot of the Romberg.
