Route that was traveled during a 3-day bike trip in Monschau, May 2023. Day 2 of the cycling journey, first a detour to the start of the Vennbahn in Aachen, also very worthwhile, certainly over the Eupen reservoir and then further on paved roads through the High Fens, car-free, reasonably well-paved. The elevation gain here is not so bad, in this direction the start is at the bottom, and along the Vennbahn it is rather flat, but good to ride.
Parking is possible somewhere on the outskirts of Monschau, we set off from the center, but the first kilometers are quite tough. Alternatively, you can park at the Konzen train station, north of Monschau, then you are directly at the Vennbahn. Another option is to park at the Lammersdorf train station.
