Circular hiking trail Gabelweihe

As a starting point, the Shepherds Gate at the edge of the village towards Rhüden is recommended. We start uphill at the Shepherds Gate along the slope of Heber straight, past the Heber Cross to the Trumpeter. Here we turn left, parallel to the edge of the forest, cross the L466 and then head north to the playground with hiking sign. A rest in or in front of the shelter is recommended. Here you can barbecue, but only after prior registration with the municipal administration. The path continues on a pergola-like forest edge path which later becomes a forest edge grass path with a beautiful view of Lamspringe. Rest benches invite you to linger. Parallel to the state road, we reach our starting point at the Shepherds Gate.The circular route can easily be extended, for example via the Heberberg and sections of the monastery hiking trail.
