Hike through Stolberg: Up to the castle, deep into nature

Our approximately 8.5-kilometer hike leads from Stolberg-Mausbach along the Copper Route to the old town of Stolberg and through the old town park Gehlens Kull. After a short detour through the city, where you can recharge with pizza or ice cream, we head up to the castle. You will then hike back to the starting point through nature reserves on field and forest paths. The hike can be shortened to six kilometers without the detour through the old town park and the old town.
 

Start: Park on Friedensstraße in Stolberg-Mausbach near house number 8 or nearby.

If you are arriving by public transport, you can start the hike from Stolberg Castle. Without changing lines, the most convenient way is to take the Aseag bus line 25. This line runs from Vaals through Aachen Bushof to Stolberg (stop Altstadt). From there, the way to the castle is signposted (about 300 meters).

Opening hours of the castle: Wednesday to Friday 11 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, Sunday, and on public holidays 11 AM to 6 PM.
