The church of Sant Miquel de Vilageriu is located 500 meters from the city of Tona in the Catalan region of Osona. The church is referred to as Sant Miquel de Vilageliu on the maps by the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya, but is called Sant Miquel de Vilageriu in local signs.
It is mentioned in the year 958 as being located in Villa Gerile, as it depended on the lords of Rocafort who were also the lords of Vilageriu.
