A place to feel the city. The San Pablo Bridge is the most famous in Cuenca. It is a reddish iron bridge with straight lines located over the Huécar River, very close to the Hanging Houses, from where you can take some of the best photos of the city.
The current bridge was built in 1902, following the architectural trends of the time, and is about a hundred meters long. It consists of five arches with quite tall pillars.
If you are afraid of heights, you should pass without looking down too much. It replaced an old stone bridge, built between 1533 and 1589, which collapsed and was located at the same site, connecting the San Pablo Convent with the urban area over the gorge of the Huécar River.
