Aragon - The Moncayo Mountain Range

The Sierra de Moncayo, near the Bardenas Reales desert, is a popular destination for hikers; the peak of Moncayo (2316m) is one of the highest Spanish summits. This natural park, close to the Bardenas, deserves all your curiosity. You arrive at the Sanctuary of Moncayo (1620m) after a lovely ascent. From there, the hikes begin. A place of worship but also, and above all, a very good restaurant! And an exceptional view of the Bardenas and the Pyrenees chain. For digestion, there are what you need (make sure to wear proper shoes!). All that’s left is to descend through the Sierra to reach the Monastery of Veruela, an exceptional site in the middle of the countryside; the surprise is beautiful! After this must-see visit, all that's left is to return to Tudela for tapas... A nicely green and invigorating walk after the Bardenas!.... A road trip highly recommended..
