The Château de Versas is a castle located in the commune of Sanilhac in the Ardèche department. In the same town are the Brison Tower, a very old fortification, and the ruins of the Château de Brison, a seventeenth-century building devastated during the Revolution. In 1901, the historian Albin Mazon wrote in his project for an unfinished encyclopaedia of the Ardèche, in the "Versas" tab: "there are predestined buildings, it is to a Protestant pastor, Sugier, that the castle of Versas now belongs".
