If you want to hang out where Athenian people hang out, you have to get to the Psirri district. The history of this area is quite peculiar. This area was a popular but degraded area at the edge of the center of Athens. During the 90s, the first restaurants settled here. These were very much liked by the local population. Soon came the second and third wave of restaurants. The result is that restaurants, bars and nightlife has taken the upper hand in this neighbourhood. A must if you like to smell the local nightlife of Athens.
