The Staza svetog Šimuna winds through Istria’s unspoiled countryside, offering a balanced mix of effort and reward. The journey begins with a demanding paved ascent through lush natural surroundings, climbing steadily before encountering a shorter but equally steep push early on. Midway, the trail flattens slightly, transitioning to a rough, unpaved path that meanders through rolling terrain. The latter half tests endurance with a steep, unpaved descent—caution advised—before returning along the same quiet, scenic route. A moderate challenge with just over 400 meters of elevation gain, it rewards with solitude and the raw beauty of Istria’s rural heart.
