Loreto Aprutino is a comune and town in the Province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region of central Italy.
The presence of necropoleis at Colle-Fiorano and at Farina-Cardito suggest that a significant pre-Roman settlement once existed near the modern town. The Italic Vestini, following their defeat by the Romans in the Social War, eventually built a town around the castellum and called it Lauretum, because of the many bay laurels that then grew in the area.
