Amelisweerd is an estate in the municipality of Bunnik, east of the city of Utrecht. The estate is located on the Kromme Rijn between Utrecht and Bunnik and borders the Rhijnauwen estate. There are several hiking trails through Amelisweerd.
Amelisweerd is indirectly mentioned for the first time in 1224 with the mention of the knight Amelis miles de Insula which is the Latin variant of Amelis from the Weerd. Presumably this Amelis had a worth along the Kromme Rijn on loan from the provost of Oudmunster in Utrecht and the name is derived from this.
