The Maasduinen - Reindersmeer

The beautiful circular hike leads through the national park "De Maasduinen" in North Limburg. The route runs along and over the Reindersmeer, through wooded areas, heath fields, and dunes. From the high embankment, there is a constant stunning view of the Reindersmeer. During the hike, you cross the water to the other side with a manually operated ferry. From here, you walk through a forested area with a view of the expansive heath fields, with moss-covered sandy areas and hills, as well as along a nature reserve that is under construction. Later, you walk through a large dune area. You have a splendid view of it from the hills around the dune. The route continues through extensive heath fields along the meadows with a large flock of sheep and the sheep barn. During the last section of the hike, after a small ascent, you have a nice view of the heath fields on one side and the holiday park on the other side. The route mainly runs along sandy and gravel paths, but also partly through loose sand.

The starting point is located at the parking lot by the restaurant De Wellsche Hut, Weezerweg 13 in Well.
