Juan Pérez Delgado (NIJOTA) vivió de 1898 a 1973).
Obra encargada por el Orfeón La Paz de La Laguna al escultor Francisco Borges Salas (1901-1994) como homenaje al periodista y poeta lagunero.
Fue inaugurado el 9 de noviembre de 1975 y está situado en La Plaza de La Concepción de San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
Juan Pérez Delgado nació en el barrio de la Concepción de La Laguna , "durante la Guerra de Cuba". Estudió Derecho, actividad que no desarrolló profesionalmente porque se dedicó al periodismo, incluso como redactor del diario La Prensa y redactor jefe de El Día .
Cultivó con éxito el teatro, la poesía y el cuento. Su primera obra de teatro , Mariquilla, se estrenó en 1927 y "El amor en bicicleta" al año siguiente. Sus versos humorísticos tuvieron gran acogida entre la prensa y el público de las islas.
