El castillo de Wagrain se encuentra en el borde norte de Ebbs, aproximadamente a seis kilómetros al noreste de Kufstein en Tirol.
El castillo fue mencionado por primera vez en 1421 como la residencia de los señores de Ebbs, aunque se supone que ya se había construido en el siglo XIV como una torre residencial de tres pisos. Los señores de Ebbs actuaron como jueces al servicio de los duques bávaros, proporcionaron entre 1429 y 1438 al obispo de Chiemsee, Johann Ebser, y se extinguieron en 1494 con Ludwig Ebser.
